Hi
I'm a bit of a novice and trying hard to use Paint Shop Pro to create adverts for use in local press. I create the ad to the right size (it has to have a fairly high resolution) and then I save it as a jpeg. If I open the jpeg, it's still the right size. However, if I email it over to the paper, it doubles in size and they have to shrink it down, losing a lot of the quality. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? Please help! Thanks |

Hi,
Bit late in the day.......... I always supply images to the press in CMYK .tif format at 300 d.p.i. resolution. jpg is only RGB and is a lossy format, ie every time that you modify and save a jpg it tries to compress the file and it becomes lower quality at every save. Publications usually insist on CMYK format. Having said that, I use both Photoshop and Paintshop pro and I can't see how to save a file, in CMYK format, using Paintshop Pro. Its easy using Photoshop. In fact since Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard, I would seriously consider getting yourself a copy for professional work. |
