Step 1:
- Create a new image, 200 x 100, 64M colours
- Select the fill tool, pattern and load in your chosen stone pattern,
you can use one of these if you don't have one.
Step 2:
- Apply your text
Step 3:
- Save the text selection to an alpha channel
- Selections, Save to Alpha Channel
- Save it as Stone1
- Clear the text (Delete)
- Restore the selection from the alpha channel
- Selections, Load from Alpha Channel
- Select Stone1
- Invert the selection (Shift-Ctrl-I)
- Apply drop shadow
Options
Repeating the drop shadow, gives a stronger carving.
Re-invert the selection (so it just selects the text shape) and colourise
the inside. This is Shift-U for RGB, Red=20, Green=10, Blue=0. Then darken
the selection to taste.
This is same style, but Red=-20, Green=-20, Blue=100. Then I've re-applied the
selection invert and drop shadow.
