An alternative gold text method, useful for finer fonts.
Step 1:
- Create a new image, 200 x 100, 64M colours
- Select medium gray and enter some text in a fine font
- DO NOT clear the selection marquee (the "marching ants") from the text
Whenever text is entered it is automatically selected. This is vital for nearly
all text effects. So be ready to apply any text effects as soon as you have entered the text.
Step 2:
- Ctrl-H to Feather the selection by 7 pixels
Feathering is very useful in reducing the effects of hot wax on text blocks,
you can also use this in creating lead, pewter and other text effects.
- Then apply Hot Wax
Step 3:
- Shift-U to colour them image, Red=80, Green=60, Blue=0 gives the gold seen here.
You could also use R=40, G=20, B=0 to give a more coppery effect.
Step 4:
- Apply some Drop Shadow to finish off.
