Before you start this lesson you really need to have completed Lesson 1.
You may also want to download the Complete Framing Kit with 100
scans ready to use.
Adding Drop Shadow
- This is where we had left in Lesson 1
- You can add a simple drop shadow inside the frame.
- With the frame layer selected, just add drop shadow (Try Opacity=100, Blur=10, Offset=3/3)
- Notice that drop shadow only tends to do two sides (not surprisingly),
You now need to add drop shadow again. This time though make the offset negative and smaller than
your original offset (Try -2).
Adding Decoration
- Take the result from Lesson 1
- Layer over a new blue/yellow template
- Cut out the inner portion of this new template
- Expand the selection (say by 10 pixels), invert the selection and cut out again
- Open another frame picture, this is "pl_gold.jpg". You are looking for a colour that contrasts with your base frame colour.
- Now, fill the narrow template in the same way as if you were making a full frame.
In the next lesson we will look at some variations on these themes.
