Wedding Reflections

A bride considers her wedding day, is she sad, does she cry? Does the heavy metal box suggest entrapment? What happened to gay figure dancing on the left - or is she running in fear?

What about all those other little women standing on the shelf history?

But wait, maybe it is entrapment of a different sort, isn't that her groom trapped in the glass ball?

Technique:

The foreground figures are all obviously from photo shoots, with a little modification.

Where I spent most time with this image was in the creation of the box. Starting with a scan of an old rusted frame and set about adding the depth required for it to become a box.

Bring some parts (for example bottom left) in front of the main images enhances the depth.

Extra peices such as the silver bar behind the figures were added to give the left hand outline something to cut into, but also to give some balance and horizontal sweep.

That said, I'm not really happy about the technical composition of this picture, its sort of square, but not square, the extra wide presentation I set out to make seems to pull the picture apart, whereas I had hoped to pull it together by oppressing it through lack of height....
