So here I was noodling away with a package called
Repligator. Never used it since, but some folk really like
it. Anyway, something cropped which reminded me of a scene
in Kubrick's "Altered States" when William Hurt is flashing
between being a 20th century man and something far more
pre-historic.
Technique: What makes this picture interesting is the blend from real to weird. Its very simple to achieve. Take your original picture and your modified one in two layers. Then, either using masks (the preferred way since you can edit and re-edit them) or just erasing the top layer you can blend the two together. Make sure you work with a very soft eraser brush though, harsh lines between the two images will be very apparent and probably show artifacts that glare out.
