SEATED GOLDEN GIRL | ||
I just love the look of this "old gold" colour. I could use it over and over again. In fact I have! This is one of my favourite portraits, I like the light, the shade, the pose, the everything. Now I know critically that its got a number of problems with it - but I'll thank you not to point them out! Technique: Achieving that golden glow is simple. Take your original image, reduce to a greyscale, set back to full colour (but only in shades of grey - if that makes sense). Select Colourise (or similar) try a hue setting of around 20ish and a saturation setting to taste. Or, and this is a more useful technique which can be applied to colour images as well. Place your image on the bottom layer Place a new layer above it and fill with the required colour Adjust the opacity and colourise blend modes to taste. You may also want to reduce the saturation of the bottom layer to make it more grey and allow the colourising layer to have a stronger effect.
