There is something in old bones that trigger an atavistic response in all of us. To my eye there is also a wealth of both detail and also suggestion in fossils. By showing the inherent beauty within nature, but also suggesting the original form of the creature there is always more than meets the eye.     Technique: The base layer of fossil has been manipulated to provide a larger working area. The figures are overlaid in a blend mode to allow the shading and texture to show through. Careful use of mask areas between the figure and the fossil ensure that the figures are not obviously transparent.
